Our Story...

The Christian Center of Elko has served the city of Elko and northeastern Nevada for more than 25 years. It has a storied history and has become a part of the local Elko culture and history.

Born of God...

The Christian Center of Elko was born of God and inspired in the hearts of his children. After many months of prevailing prayer and seeking God's will, we were given freedom, in the Spirit, to gather togther and launch this exciting work in Elko, fulfilling a prophecy given almost one year prior to it's creation.

Sunday, August 23, 1981, was a wonderful day when the group met together at the Holiday Inn to worship and praise God for the vision He had given the group and the liberty they had in Him.

There were 19 present at that first meeting including Mr. and Mrs. Hap Reynolds of Burley, Idaho who ministered to the group and would return two weeks later to minister again. In 1986, ground broke on the Christian Center of Elko's building where it stands today. Then Rev. John Jacks, said that the building of this new church facility was a "community effort."
